July 1st, 2016: Canada Day Celebrations

Fun for the whole family! Fireworks and more.  Sioux Narrows – Nestor Falls is the place to be July 1st!

Sioux Narrows

Starting at 9:00 am, the annual Bike Parade, immediately followed by the Dog Parade, will be at the Sportfishing Centre.  Immediately after the parades, at the Sioux Narrows Public School grounds, will be the foot races.  From 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm at the Sioux Narrows Community Hall, the Sioux Narrows Recreation Committee is planning several events, including bouncy houses, wagon rides, face painting, games and concession. At dusk, don’t miss the Canada Day fireworks display by the Sioux Narrows Bridge.  For details, contact the Sportfishing Centre at 807-226-5293.

Nestor Falls

From 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Bass Lake Park, the Nestor Falls Recreation Committee is planning several events, including kid’s games, bouncy houses, a barbecue, a bar, a Pig Roast supper and live music by Ryan Van Bellingham.  Don’t miss the Canada Day fireworks display at dusk at Pine Lake near The Falls.  For details, contact the Nestor Falls Information Centre at 807-484-2354.

July 30th & 31st, 2016: The 55th Annual Sioux Narrow Arts Festival

Sioux Narrows Curling Rink, Red Indian Road. Over 55 exhibitors from the US, Canada, and abroad gather to display and sell their work at this juried art show. The festival features something for everyone, whether it is fine art, carvings, painting, photographs, jewelry, and clothing, woodwork, fishing lures, pottery, furniture, fiber art and more! The festival also offers art workshops and artist demonstrations, activities for children at the Children’s Craft Tent, a free shuttle bus, raffles and a door prize, and concert entertainment to complete the weekend.

August 18th, 19th & 20th, 2016: Moose n’ Fiddle Music Festival

Caliper Lake Provincial Park. This festival celebrates a variety of music, including country, Celtic, blues and folk music. Great music, accompanied by the best company, local food and beer, an artisan’s tent, and views of Caliper Lake, make for a wonderful weekend.

 

September 9th, 10th & 11th, 2016: 20th Annual Bassin’ for Bucks Tournament
