The next municipal election is scheduled for Monday October 26, 2026.

The nomination period opens on Friday May 1st, 2026, with the deadline to file nominations being Friday August 21, 2026. The Municipal Council in the Township of Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls holds elections for the following positions:

Mayor
Councilor at Large (2)
Councilor Ward 1 (Sioux Narrows)
Councilor Ward 2 (Nestor Falls)

In addition to this, nominations can be filed to serve as school board trustees for:

French Catholic School Board Trustee (1)
French Public School Board Trustee (1)

English Public School Board Trustee Ward 1 (3)
English Catholic School Board Trustee Ward 1 (5)

English Public School Board Trustee Ward 2 (1)
English Catholic School Board Trustee Ward 2 (1)

Nomination papers in Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls can be filed with the Municipal Clerk, Maureen Hanson at the Sioux Narrows Municipal Office 5521 Highway 71.

Report to Public on Financial Filing Compliance (February 21st, 2023)

The Municipal Elections Act, 1996 requires that we report on candidate and third-party financial filing compliance public by April 30, 2023. This report needs to identify any candidate or third-party advertiser that failed to file any required document(s); identified a surplus on their financial statement and did not pay it to the clerk by the required date; or, identified on their financial statement that they incurred expenses in excess of the appropriate limit(s).

All candidates have filed their required documents. No candidates identified a surplus. No candidates incurred expenses.

Therefore, all candidates are in compliance with the reporting requirements.

2022 Municipal and School Boards Trustee Election – All Seats Acclaimed

The number of certified candidates for all available positions applicable to the Township of Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls was the same as the number of offices; therefore all candidates have been declared elected by acclamation.

There will be no ballot or election held October 24th, 2022, in Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls.
