Meet the Newest Member of Our Trail Crew

We are excited to welcome the newest member of our trail crew to Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls Township. This winter, a Snowdog officially joined the team and we couldn't be happier!
It won't take long for this little machine to earn its keep. After the snowiest snowfalls, we are more than excited to have the Snowdog to help us groom and maintain our trails, so they stay open, safe, and enjoyable for the community no matter what the winter months bring us. Whether you are out for a winter walk, heading out on skis, or riding a fat bike, this machine helps create a smoother surface that makes getting outside easier and more enjoyable for everyone.
One of the biggest benefits is how trail friendly it is. The Snowdog has better maneuverability than a snowmobile and creates less destruction on the trail tread. That means we can maintain our trails while preserving the natural feel that people come out here to enjoy.
It is also a huge help behind the scenes. The Snowdog allows us to haul tools, signage, and gear into trail areas. With the right attachments, it will support our trail work year-round, not just in winter, helping with maintenance, stewardship, and future projects to come.
You will see the impact of this new addition on trails like Red Pine Trail, Boreal Trail, and Aspen Trail, with more to come as we continue work on an upcoming trail.
P.S. If you spot any downed trees, hazards, or issues while you are out on our trails, please let us know. A quick email to trails@snnf.ca helps keep these trails clear and safe.
