How to Join the Mystery?
Your adventure begins at the main Red Pine Trail parking lot, anytime between October 23 and November 1.
Look for the Welcome to the Haunted Trail Mystery Walk sign at the parking area. Here you’ll find the starting instructions, a reference map, and an idea where to find the first story prompt.
From the parking lot, follow Trail #4, stay left as you make your way through the forest. (Please use existing trailhead for reference if needed.)
Look for the numbered story pages along the route, reading each one in order as the mystery unfolds.

You’ll follow the trail around the cemetery before reaching the final story page at the old trailhead sign. Once you’ve reached the end, the adventure doesn’t have to stop! You’re welcome to retrace your steps, continue exploring the trails, or take the cemetery access road back toward the main parking lot.
Keep your eyes peeled for unusual footprints, enjoy the changing colours of the forest, and see if you can figure out what’s been wandering through the woods.
Pro Tip: Before You Wander Into the Woods…
- Snap a photo of the map! Before heading out, take a picture of the map for reference.
- Watch your step. Wear sturdy footwear and dress for the changing weather.
- Keep an eye on daylight. The trails are open to explore at any time, but daylight fades quickly this time of year! If you’re heading out later in the day or after dark, bring a flashlight or headlamp.
- Stay on the trail. Follow the marked route, respect the cemetery and surrounding natural areas, and leave any decorations or story pages in place for the next adventurers to find and enjoy.
- Adventure together. Younger explorers should be accompanied by an adult, especially visiting after dark.
